I was given the task of researching the market of private and ride share transportation in Peru, focusing mostly on taxis. During my research I found out that taking this mode of transportation is not very safe. In Peru, there are no laws or regulations on who can become a taxi driver, so the rider is unaware of who they are getting a ride from. There has been a large increase in taxi robberies, thefts, and foul play over the past decade.

Solution
We designed and app that provides safety to both customers and drivers. We will be focusing on a few key points. For the drivers safety, we are going to provide dash cams that can record rides. Drivers will also have a database of their passengers who are also on the app, showing them some basic demographic information about the passenger. This information will be deleted from the drivers app once the passenger has been safely dropped off. For the passengers, there will be a safety button installed that will show passengers location, driver and vehicle information, and the route being taken. Also, the drivers will all go through a thorough background check before being able to register on the app. I designed the first iteration of the app doing the wireframes and user flows.
